The brilliant Oxford duo The August List have long been favorites of ours and we have managed to bag them for two shows this month – Sunday 4th June at […]
with all the best intentions in the world, and after a few issues with support from venues and a general exasperation at the apathy of audiences to what we are trying to do, we said we were having a break, doing less, maybe even dare I say it, quitting? And we did, for about 3 weeks over Christmas. But we are back….
It’s fair to say that it has been a tough year for us at Songs of Praise. Therefore, some hard decisions have been made and we are radically changing our approach in 2017.
We are super excited to announce that we will be taking up a monthly residency in Bristol from January 2017. One Sunday a month at the fabulous Golden Lion on Gloucester Road in the city will become our home.
We have some great shows coming up for early autumn at Baila, our favourite coffee shop cum craft bar cum vinyl shop. There is more to be confirmed as well, but in the meantime, check out this little lot!
Cutting it fine this week, but hey, that is how I roll at the moment – with The Swindon Shuffle kicking off next week (eeek!) it is a rather busy time.Last week was a fairly important one in the development of Songs of Praise, with our Thursday show at Baila turning out to be something of a pinnacle moment for us, that kind of whole NYC Greenwich Village vibe we had been looking for. Hopefully this will be the first of many of this ilk. Anyway, what do we have for the listening public to get their ears round this week?
We are damned excited about tonight’s show, a co-promotion with our friends at Sheer Music, as we bring the return to Swindon of folk-punk artist and festival favourite Beans on Toast.
